Fouad B. Chedid received his PhD in Computer Science from Illinois Tech in 1990. He is currently the Vice Chancellor of A’Sharqiyah University in Oman, a position he has held since April 2019. Prior to this position, he had served as Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at A’Sharqiyah University, Dean of Arts and Applied Sciences at Dhofar University in Oman, Prof. of Computer Science at Notre Dame University in Lebanon, and Associate Prof of Computer Science at Temple University in Japan. His research interests include the area of Algorithmic Information Theory, which is a fundamental element in the theoretical foundations of AI. He has published more than 50 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings.
