Dr. Munir Majdalawieh holds a Ph.D. in IT and an E.M.B.A. from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, USA. He also earned an MSc. in computer science and applied math from Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA.
Since August 2014, Dr. Majdalawieh has served as an Associate Professor at Zayed University (ZU), United Arab Emirates. In 2017, he assumed the role of Head of the Information Systems and Technology Management Department at the College of Technological Innovation.
Throughout his tenure at ZU, Dr. Majdalawieh has taken on key administrative roles. These include serving as an Advisor of the Provost on Community Engagement and Outreach (January 2017 – May 2018), ZU/SAP Dual Study Coordinator (Since January 2017), Assistant Dean for students (August 2015 – December 2015), and Enterprise Computing/Systems Coordinator (August 2012 – June 2015).
Before joining ZU, Dr. Majdalawieh spent six years at the American University of Sharjah (AUS), United Arab Emirates. Prior to academia, he accumulated over 22 years of industry experience, holding positions at Booz Allen Hamilton, Hewlett Packard, Compaq Computer Corporation, and Digital Equipment Corporation, USA.
Dr. Majdalawieh’s extensive research portfolio includes over 70 peer-reviewed papers published in international journals and conference proceedings. His areas of expertise span digital transformation, business process modeling, data science, AI, IT audit and control, supply chain, enterprise information management/cybersecurity, and related topics.
In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Majdalawieh was honored with the Digital Transformation 100 (DT100) award in 2023. This award acknowledges him as one of the top 100 technology leaders in the UAE, an accolade organized by Exito Media Concepts.
