Professor Taha Al-Hazarmerdi is a distinguished Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and the Founding Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Science at the American University in the Emirates. With over 30 years of experience in General Surgery, he specializes in Colorectal Surgery.

He earned his medical degree from Baghdad University in 1981 and became Arab Board Certified in General Surgery in 1992.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (1999) and the American College of Surgeons (2018).

Additionally, he holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Atlanta, USA (2012).

He completed a Fellowship in General Laparoscopic Surgery and Colorectal Surgery in Strasbourg, France, in 2000. As an Associate Professor and Dean, Professor Al-Hazarmerdi contributes significantly to medical education and healthcare.
